Whist searching online for dried lavender suppliers I came across ‘The Hop Shop’ at Castle Farm. The farm were organising ‘A Lavender weekend’ for the 1st two weekends of July which looked rather interesting so I decided that this would be my next day trip…….
From the main road the lavender fields are breath-taking, I had to stop traffic just to take a photo of this view, I have never seen fields upon fields of lavender and boy did it take my breath away and give me tickles in my tummy.
These are just a few of the pictures i took

How breathtakingly beautiful! I have never been to a lavender farm and must go before my time on earth is up.
ReplyDeleteit really was a lovely experience, i went on a tour given by the farm owners son, and i learned sooo much on the different species and each ones uses and properties and also the distillation process. I also learned that lavendin is a lavender species with camphor and gives the strongest scent....(i honestly did not know that)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely place! I love lavender - I was at a craft fair last week and bought some strawberry & lavender jam - haven't tried it yet but it sounds like a yummy combination. If you have access to lavender stems you might be interested in having a go at making lavender wands http://thesockgarden.wordpress.com/2010/07/19/lavender-wands/ :)
ReplyDeleteOh my it must have smelt so good there!! I have been wanting to try some lavender ice cream. How was it?
ReplyDeleteLovely blog!
